In September, Playboi Carti announced that he would soon be dropping his first-ever project. Since that time, the 20-year-old Atlanta artist inked a deal with Interscope (according to A$AP Rocky) and has been touring with A$AP Ferg. Though no one in A$AP is affiliated with his new major label, Carti is still clearly a part of the Harlem-born collective, and he featured on two tracks on the Mob's recent compilation album, Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends. Carti's new track, "Red Lean," was shared on SoundCloud by A$AP Illz, a co-founder of the Mob. The song, produced by Dolan Beats, is under a minute and a half in runtime, though it's a snappy club banger with plenty of memorable punchlines.
The club-ready production comes from Dolan Beats, a frequent collaborator of Chief Keef's. Carti has built an impressive fanbase without any projects. Hopefully a mixtape is coming soon. Head here for another great "Red Lean," courtesy of the Club God.
