Despite news that Playboi Carti has officially signed to Interscope, there hasn't been any new information about the release of his debut mixtape, other than his drunken Snapchat claims that he is "about to drop that tape." Carti fans are getting impatient, and hopefully this new song, "Damn Shame" will temporarily put them at ease.
"Damn Shame" features Johnny Cinco and marks a slight change of course from Carti's usual style. He sticks to his usual money talk, but he dims the lights and cranks up the autotune. The result is a syrupy, R&B-tinged mixture that may offer insight into the sound Carti has pursued on his mixtape.
