Complex has been celebrating PharrellWeek for their new digital cover which, of course, features Pharrell Williams on it. Along with the cover came an in-depth interview, where Pharrell talked about his penchant for being weirder than the average person, and how that affected him in his youth. The discussion soon turns to the future, and Pharrell reveals an interesting bit of information.

Pharrell reveals that he is working on a follow-up to his 2006 effort, In My Mind (which was his debut solo album), however, this forthcoming project will not include any rapping from Pharrell. This seems to be something he's grown out of with age, as he explains it. However, that's not to say he still doesn't enjoy spitting.

"I love rapping," Pharrell says, "But—something’s coming, and I’m not rapping on it."

He added, "No rapping. It’s focused. Like I told you, that’s the difference between 30 and 40. ’Cause I was 30, now I’m 40—and I’m not rapping," before confirming that he was indeed referring to solo album.

We wonder what the constant innovator has in store...Stay tuned.

In a new interview with Fuse News, Pharrell claimed the above comments were misinterpreted, and confirmed he will be rapping in the future.

"I'm still gonna rap," he said. "There was a misunderstanding - I rhyme. There's just things that I can't talk about at the moment that won't have any rap in it. But I will be rapping."

Sounds good to us.
