Here's a random ass Soundcloud discovery of the day. While jumping between Soundcloud pages, I happened across Pharaoh, a Toronto-bred artist who dabbles in rapping and singing. He's not yet broached 1,000 followers on Soundcloud, so he really is fresh talent, but nonetheless he seems to know what he's doing, with an ear for production and song structure.
Pharaoh's most recent release happens to be a freestyle over Madeintyo's "Uber Everywhere," but to give you a better sense of his work, we're going with the slightly older (by that I mean nine days) "A.I." It features airy production, while Pharaoh floats along the beat, showcasing a few different melodic flows. It's a blend of pop, r'n'b and hip-hop, and in this current day and age, that blend will definitely take you places (i.e. mainstream). What do you think of Pharaoh? Check out more on his Soundcloud.
