Origins: Pusha T's "My Name Is My Name"

Pusha T said in an interview that he had the best album of the year. On top of that he said that he had the best production. The audience rating on our site's review of this album at an outstanding 93%. This album is undoubtedly one of the best of 2013 with producers such as Kanye West, Hudson Mohawke, The Dream, Pharrell Williams and... Lars Ulrich's son? Out of the 12 tracks on the album, 6 of them were sampled with other songs and beats.

"Hold On," which features Rick Ross & is produced by Hudson Mohawke & Kanye West, seems to have samples from the soul record "Ghet-to Funk" by Duralcha. It's a subtle sample throughout the record that brings back the production vibe from Kanye West's My Dark Twisted Fantasy album.

There's a lot of speculation went on when trying to figure out who "actually" produced "King Push". Pusha T got it from Kanye, Kanye got it from Joaquin Phoenix who-- to our understanding, got it from the son of Metallica's Lars Ulrich. It has recently come out that the producer is a 23 year old, Sebastian Sartor. The under-the-radar, mystery producer played some of his stuff for a friend, Joaquin Pheonix in L.A. earlier this year. His mom is actress Connie Nielson, who apparently dated Lars Ulrich-- which is why everyone thought Sartor was his son. After all that confusion, we now have a song that was sampled from Kanye West's - "New Slaves".

"Nosetalgia," which is produced by Kanye West, Nottz & Twilite Tone, borrows many samples, but the one that stands out the most is Bobby Blue Bland-- "If loving you is wrong/ I don't want to be right".

"Numbers On The Boards" was produced by Don Cannon and Kanye West and was one of the first songs to drop off the album. It samples Anthony King & John Mattheus "Pots 'N' Pans". The transformation of the sounds is pretty crazy on this one.

The song "Long Red" by Mountain has been sample by A$AP Rocky, Kanye West, The Game, Lana Del Rey & Jay-Z. So why shouldn't Pusha T have a track with the iconic "Yeah" scream. Well apparently he does. On "Who I Am" featuring 2 Chainz & Big Sean, you can hear the "Yeah" scream throughout the entire production, cleverly used by Kanye West and Million $ Mano.
