Oprah Dedicates Hour to the Aftermath in Haiti

CHICAGO, IL — On Wednesday, January 20, The Oprah Winfrey Show dedicates a live hour to last week's catastrophic earthquake in Haiti. Joining forces with some of the biggest names in entertainment, the episode will highlight personal stories in order to more clearly put a human face on this incomprehensible tragedy and incredible suffering. One of Haiti's biggest champions, Grammy-winning singer Wyclef Jean, shares a firsthand account of what he found when he traveled back to his native land just days ago.

Joining forces with some of the biggest names in entertainment, the episode will highlight personal stories in order to more clearly put a human face on this incomprehensible tragedy and incredible suffering. One of Haiti's biggest champions, Grammy-winning singer Wyclef Jean, shares a firsthand account of what he found when he traveled back to his native land just days ago. Then, superstar Rihanna lends her voice to the relief efforts with a special performance of "Redemption Song." R&B artist Maxwell, who will sing "Fistful of Tears," shares how his Haitian roots inspired him to spend years fighting to end hunger there and why he believes something positive will come out of the recent devastation. Both songs also will be available on iTunes, with proceeds going to the relief effort. Plus, CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta has been working around the clock, saving lives and sharing stories. He'll give a live update from the ravaged island nation.
