Next stop: Obama.
Oprah Winfrey and Young Thug are not two people that are typically associated with one another, but thanks to Jeffrey's crossover hit "Havana" with Camila Cabello, the pair have been brought together for a heartwarming video. Oprah, wearing a Pharell-style hat and yellow jacket, dances to Thug's verse on "Havana."
Hopefully, this could be the beginning of proper mainstream success for Young Thug who, although well-known, hasn't had much luck in terms of sales. His protegées, Gunna and Lil Baby, have had a huge amount of success recently, rapping in a style heavily influenced by Young Thug though. Through it all, Young Thug still has one of the most loyal and devoted fanbases in hip-hop, but even they can't help boost him into the A-list. In other words, we have let Young Thug down.
However, a new album looks to be on the way in the form of Slime Language. Just three days ago, Young Thug wiped his Instagram clean and changed his profile photo to the text: "SLIME LANGUAGE: coming soon." Rumoured to be executive produced by Wheezy and London On Da Track (two producers with whom Thug works off of very nicely), Slime Language could be the project that blows Young Thug into the stratosphere.
