On The Come Up: Skeme

We kick off the Season 4 of On The Come Up with an interview with Skeme, the 26-year-old rapper from Inglewood, CA.

Skeme came by HNHH to talk about his rise to prominence in the LA scene and his recent album Ingleworld 3. he recalled his early days as a rapper -- he used to come heavy with the rappity rap. "I wanted to be Cassidy," he said. "I was definitely down for the battles at all times."

Skeme was in "heavy talks" with TDE, but he didn't feel like he was a good fit. For the time being, he's content to be independent. "I don't need too much of a hand from anybody," he says. "Right now, I think I'm the most me I've ever been in life, which is cool and fun. I'm high all the time, too."
