Donmonique is on the come up.
Donmonique sees herself as a regular girl from Brooklyn, but her rise to prominence in the last 6 months has been anything but ordinary. In our newest episode of #OTCU, she reflects on her journey up to this point and teases what she's got next on the menu.
Before she was a rapper, she was a model. She started getting work after pictures of her wearing a FUBU jersey that went viral on Tumblr. Shoutout to FUBU.
She recorded "Pilates," her biggest song to date, after a particularly inspiring weekend down in Atlanta for A3C. Once Kylie found about it, it was a wrap. Then her homie Skizzy Mars hopped on the remix. "And he got the white girl fans," she said. She goes on to share the story of how she got Danny Brown to appear on her promising debut Thirst Trap EP, a project she's proud of. "I feel like Thirst Trap, I would listen to it if it wasn't my tape. I really like the tape."
Thirst Trap 2 coming next summer.
