Cousin Stizz made his mark this summer with the release of Suffolk County, a focused collection of catchy mood-driven rap, bolstered by breakout single, "Shoutout". He's been building a solid fanbase ever since, so we decided to catch up with the rapper for an On The Come Up feature.
Stizz hails from Dorchester in Boston, or more specifically, Field's Corner, a place he describes as a tight-knit community where everyone knows everyone, and something of a "melting pot" of cultures.
He told us all about his first experience getting in a cypher, which gave him the confidence to take writing music seriously. His writing process itself comes pretty naturally however, as he explains that "Shoutout" came together in a spontaneous 45-minute session.
As for what's next, Stizz promises to keep fine-tuning his sound and giving fans the best product possible. Look out for big things from him in the near future.
