Fantastic news for the hip-hop community: Offset has been released from jail.

UPDATE: Offset will serve 5 years probation as part of an alford plea deal, reports FADER. The state is willing to cut his probation down to two years should he stay out of trouble. "He was put in a position where he felt like his arm was held behind his back, he wanted to support his children. He made a decison that it was time to choose freedom," said Offset's lawyer, Drew Findling.

Earlier today (Dec. 4), it was reported that Offset would appear in court to make his fourth bid to be released on bail, and it now seems that the judge has been convinced by Offset's argument that there wasn't sufficient evidence to connect him to a riot that took place Bulloch County Jail in May. He had been facing charges of battery as well as riot in a penal institution, and due to those charges, he was being held without bail.

The Migos rapper has been in jail since April, following the group's arrest for possession of drugs as well as firearms during a concert at Georgia Southern University. Both Quavo and Takeoff were soon released, as, unlike Offset, neither rapper had been previously convicted on felony charges.

The good news was announced by Quality Control rapper Rich the Kid, who went to the jail to meet his labelmate upon his release.

Quavo and Takeoff are currently on the road, and they weren't able to immediately welcome their bando-mate home, but, of course, they are overjoyed at the news of his return, and they'll likely be on the next plane to Atlanta.

Congratulations to Offset and the entire YRN family!
