Obama, Lady Gaga & K-Pop Group BTS Were The Most Popular On Twitter This Year

Twitter has released a list of everything that was most popular on their platform. The lists lead to a simple conclusion: popularity on Twitter is not an art or a science, but rather completely random. Take Lady Gaga's Tweet which was the most retweeted and Obama's post which was the second most liked on Twitter. First, there's Gaga's:

Although maybe Gaga tapped into an inexpressible universally latent rage, it's important to keep in mind that this was the tweet that people decided to repost the most. Contrast that with Obama's eloquent message of hope from February:

Then, there's BTS. If you don't know what that acronym is, don't worry, you're not out of the loop, it's just that most of the world is not North America. BTS is a Korean boy-band that were the most tweeted about thing in the world. The most liked tweet of the year was one of their members, Hope, doing the In My Feelings Challenge in head-to-toe Yeezy:
