N.W.A. and Janet Jackson are among the list of nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2016. The nominations come as both acts have recently gotten back into the spotlight, as N.W.A.'s biopic, "Straight Outta Compton," was a box-office smash and as Janet Jackson just released her first album in over 7 years, Unbreakable.

In order to be eligible, a nominee's debut album has to have been released at least 25 years ago. This year marks N.W.A.'s fourth nomination. As "Straight Outta Compton" has renewed the focus on their lasting legacy, they should have a good shot.

Both Jackson and N.W.A. will have some tough competition spanning many different genres. Check out the full list of nominees below, and head to the Hall of Fame website to vote for your top 5 picks. The fan-selected inductees for the class of 2016 will be announced in December.
