When it was announced that WWE stars John Cena and Nikki Bella had ended their six-year relationship just weeks before their planned wedding date, the world was shocked, and apparently, so was John. When John went on The Today Show, he told the hosts how heartbroken he was, and that he's still very much in love with Nikki, saying that his only current plan for romance in the future is to be with Nikki and to start a family with her.
Well, according to TMZ, Nikki wasn't too thrilled with the idea. In a red carpet interview, Nikki is told for the first time what John said about her on TV, which initially left her speechless. After some reflection, Nikki says that, "I have hope ... I’m at a point in my life where I feel like I kind of lost me and I want to find me and work on me." Leaving a relationship that lasted six years takes a long time to adjust to, so it's not surprising that Nikki is trying to focus on herself for now.
She didn't close the door on John completely, however, saying that she hopes for the best for both of them. "I just want John and I both to live happily ever after whether it's together or separate," said Nikki, "and I just don't want us to go down the road in life and have regrets of like 'I did this for you' or 'you did this for me,' so I think it's okay in relationships to take that moment."
