Yesterday afternoon Nike and Michael J. Fox hinted at the release of the iconic Nike Mag, Marty McFly's self-lacing sneakers from Back To The Future. Today, Nike has opened up a raffle drawing for the chance to get your hands on the super exclusive shoes.
On the bright side, common folk who can't afford to spend $10,000+ on a pair of kicks will have the opportunity to own the Nike Mags. Unfortunately, only 89 pairs will be available and the only way to get into the drawing is by purchasing a $10 raffle spot.
All of the proceeds from the sale of the tickets will go directly to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, so even if you aren't one of the lucky 89, at least your $10 (or however much you decide to spend) will be going towards a great cause.
There's no limit on how many raffle tickets you're allowed to buy which means this release could rival the $5.69 MILLION raised during the 2011 auction.
Tickets will be available via Nike's new Nike+ app from now until October 11th, with winners being notified on the 17th. As of now, only sizes 7,9,11 and 13 are up for grabs. Nike is suggesting that you go up one size from what you traditionally wear.
