In little over 4 hours, rap critics are still gasping over Nicki Minaj's deconstruction of masculinity on "Barbie Dreams." I guess an interpolation of Biggie's "Dreams of fucking an R&B b*tch" was long overdue. Even Teyana fell victim to circumstances three years ago when she recycled Biggie's words verbatim, but Nicki is of a different breed. The only thing on her mind is the unification of hip hop's sequestered MVP list. In the end, there can only be one sovereign leader.

"Barbie Dreams" employs a fairly straightforward James Brown break, the likes of which we remember fondly and are doomed to repeat (historically). Then again it's hard to imagine a JB sample causing such delay. Then again snail mail is a proven method of fallacy, when all else fails. All the male subjects Nicki attacks on "Barbie Dreams" were probably holding out for a soda biscuit, they now know is off limits.

Quotable Lyrics:

And I would've had Odell Beckham banging the cake
'Til I saw him hoppin' out of cars dancing to Drake
I been a five-star bitch, man, word to Gotti
I'ma do that n**** Future dirty, word to Scottie
Had to cancel DJ Khaled, boy, we ain't speaking
Ain't no fat n**** telling me what he ain't eating
YG and The Game with the hammer yelling, "Gang, gang"
This ain’t what I meant when I said a gang bang.
