Nicki Minaj isn't going to wait any longer.
Fresh off her monster teaming with Migos and Cardi B called "Motor Sport," it looks like Nicki Minaj is well on her way to rolling out some more brand-new music in the near future. The reasoning? She's tired of waiting around.
In a tweet that rap's foremost diva posted late Saturday night (October 28th), her remix of a Lil Uzi Vert track has potentially made its way to the on-deck circle. "Putting the Uzi joint out this week. Phuck it," she wrote, hinting that this meeting of two popular hip-hop minds will soon see the light of day in the form of another single. It's unclear if this drop will eventually be part of her much-hyped new album, which has been in the works for what seems like an eternity for the rapper's fan base, but in any event, it's Nicki getting behind the mic again as the main artist on a track instead of as a feature, a role that she's been occupying a lot as of late. You can check out the tweet below.

The announcement had her supporters feeling a certain way on Twitter as well. Besides the excitement and anticipation that is already building as a result, there were at least a few people who questioned whether or not the move would be approved by her record label. She's previously stated that "someone" is holding back the song and, while other Young Money artists have dropped tracks in a similarly impromptu fashion in recent months (Drake's "Signs" comes to mind as an example), if Minaj does so in defiance of a previously determined release schedule, things could get interesting on multiple levels.
It's not like Nicki Minaj is a stranger to making bold statements. Earlier this month, she implied that her music gave female rappers a chance to break back into the mainstream, a set of comments that she later claimed media outlets were unfairly "remixing." Despite her supposed bad luck on the remix front, both literally and figuratively, maybe a new song reveal is just what the doctor ordered.
