Last night, Nicki Minaj continued her recent string of freestyle dominance by spitting some bars over Blueface's "Thotiana." The remix, titled "Bust Down Barbiana" had many wondering whether the rapper is planning to drop a mixtape soon. It would make sense, given the fact that her three last musical efforts have been over existing beats. The move to rap over "Thotiana" was surprising to some after Cardi B had already been confirmed for the official remix. On top of that, one lyric got fans a little confused about Nicki's current standing with Ariana Grande. As always, Twitter speculated the worst, believing that Ari and Nicki may be beefing but they quickly logged on to dispell those rumors.

In "Bust Down Barbiana," Minaj rhymes, "Thank you next, Ariana/You gon' have to give me topiana." Some of her fans thought that maybe the rapper was throwing shade. It wouldn't be the first time that Nicki decided to subtly get at somebody in her lyrics. Ariana Grande was the first to speak on the line, responding to a fan that asked if there was trouble in their friendship. "No silly ass," she wrote. "There will never be anything but love between us ever. she’s been there for me (in real life) every time i’ve needed somebody & i’ll always be there for her. we love each other. bet."

Nicki echoed Grande's sentiment, adding, "Not more than you’ve been there for me behind the scenes. Love you. For life." With Nicki's next album confirmed, may we see a collaboration between the two pop sensations?
