At 10-40 on the season, it was clear that the New York Knicks felt as though they needed to do something and after reports that Kristaps Porzingis wasn't happy with the direction of the franchise, they decided to deal him to the Dallas Mavericks. The trade information was broken by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski who reported that Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr and Courtney Lee were dealt to the Mavs in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr, DeAndre Jordan, and Wesley Matthews.

Fans of the New York Knicks were immediately upset by the news, while all of the pundits out there took the opportunity to comment on how poorly the New York Knicks have been managed over the years. Porzingis has been out with an ACL injury but would easily have been there best player had he been healthy. Now the team will be without one of the best players they've had since Carmelo Anthony.

With their abysmal record, the Knicks are currently in last place in the NBA which means they would have the best odds at winning the draft lottery. So far it seems as though Zion Williamson of Duke would go first overall, so at least Knicks fans have something to look forward to.

Check out some of the reactions below.
