"Winterfell is yours, Your Grace."
Game Of Thrones' final season (number eight) will air this April and anticipation could not be higher, thanks to HBO's reticent publicity strategy. After months of little promos with celebrities like T-Pain that have left fans with nothing much to chew on, HBO put out a trailer for not just Game Of Thrones, but for all their shows. The ad, which aired during last night's Golden Globes, bounced around between GoT, Euphoria, Big Little Lies, Veep, Watchmen and the new season of True Detective where, hopefully, Mahershala Ali will, in his desire for "the whole story" behind that little kid's bike, turn the show around and make it watchable again.
In terms of Game Of Thrones, the trailer only shows one short clip which is nonetheless big news. In the few seconds of GoT, we see Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark in Winterfell. After Daenerys walks up to the two Northerners, Sansa tells her: "Winterfell is yours, Your Grace." The meeting of these three characters has felt inevitable since the beginning of a show of so many parallel stories but with one major plot point: the impending winter.
