Fresh off an appearance on "Homicide", a track off Ghostface Killah's latest, 36 Seasons, Nems kicks off the New Year spitting bars on Statik Selektah's Showoff Radio.
While Nems requests a Statik beat, "Bird's Eye View" specifically, Statik warns Nems he won't be able to do what Black Thought did on the track. Nems then proceeds to do things Black Thought couldn't do on the track.
For those unfamiliar with the Coney Island representative, Nems was heavy in the battle rap scene before it grew to the heights it's reached recently, appearing and winning several battles (including the then popular Fight Klub) around the beginning of the new millennium. He would go on to sign to Necro's label, Psycho+Logicl-Records, for a brief period.
