Yesterday in New York, the "Millions March" protest against police brutality took place. The March comes in wake of the deaths of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Akair Gurley, and Tamir Rice, all black males who were killed by police officers over the last couple of months. The turnout for the protest was tremendous, with estimates of 50-100,000 people in attendance. Among the activists were Nas, Russell Simmons, and Def Jam Vice President Kevin Liles, their presence being documented on social media.

Many other hip hop and R&B artists showed their support for the cause through Twitter and Instagram, with French Montana, Rihanna, Diddy, and more posting images of the crowded streets, as well as the message; "Black Lives Matter".

View some of the efforts made by artists in the streets of New York and on social media below.
