The MTV Video Music Awards have become a staple in award show history, especially as it pertains to music, in the last several years. It's generally worth it to tune into the show to watch the star-studded performances, see who gets crowned in the most exciting categories, and witness what other surprises are thrown our way.
This year, award ceremonies will be much different than ever before. With the pandemic still upon us, things are definitely not as they used to be. Instead, we have adapted to this new normal.
Categories have been added (Best Music Video from Home, Best Quarantine Performance) and a unique outline has been designed for this iteration of the MTV VMAs. Taking place in New York City, performances will go down in several iconic locations from each borough. Other parts will take place at the Barclays Center, where there will be "limited or no audience."
Much like the Emmys, who announced their nominations this week, the MTV VMAs have just revealed their official list of nominations for the upcoming show.
