Since his release from prison at the onset of 2018, Kevin Gates has been on somewhat of a tear. His recent EP, Chained To The City, found the rapper in fine form, delivering a trifecta of strong, emotional, and powerful bangers. Now, while we wait for his new full length project, it would appear that Kevin Gates has wasted little time in re-forging old connections. Case in point, Moneybagg Yo took to Instagram to tease an upcoming collaboration, giving us little other than orders to drop a "black heart" emoji if we're ready.

Hopefully, this signals an imminent arrival for what promises to be some bonafide heat. It goes without saying that both parties are capable rappers, and Moneybagg was one of the first rappers to link up with Gates after his release. Granted, it's been a minute since they originally connected, but as they say, better late than never. The pair have been compared to one another, and hearing them connect on record should be interesting to say the least.

It should be noted that Moneybagg previously referenced Kevin Gates on "Black Heart," which dropped this February. "They try the best to provoke me, the killer want to be relevant," he raps, on the Southside produced instrumental. "Kevin Gates told me stay focused, Yo don't get out your element."

If you want to speed up the process, head over to Yo's IG page and drop off a black heart for good measure.
