Molly Qerim is of two minds about the Eminem reference.
Back in October, Eminem referenced a whole bunch of people in his song "Campaign Speech." One of the most surprising inclusions was ESPN personality Molly Qerim, of First Take fame.
Lyrically, Em says stuff like "she's my first take" and that he'd like to have her come "give the Shady franchise a push." Well then.
Qerim's beau, fellow ESPN host Jalen Rose, commented on the reference previously and didn't seem all that upset by it. Now it's Qerim herself responding and let's just say she wasn't over the moon about it.
"I don’t know if funny is the right word, but that it was a part of a campaign speech and not just your typical song. Listen, I appreciate that he’s a fan and I appreciate that he shouted me out. He’s definitely one of the best lyricists in the game. As far as what he actually said, I’m not going to get all beat and get all into it. I don’t think a hip-hop artist is going to say, 'I want to take long walks on the beach with you.' I’m just going to leave it at that, and that’s it. Not get all holier than thou, keep watching our show."
