They are among an estimated 250,000 who were forced to evacuate.

As the fires in California continue to burn, the death count raises as we speak (per the BBC: "The death toll in wildfires sweeping California has risen to 31, with more than 200 people still missing, officials have said"), along with the list of those who have lost their homes. Although many, including the Kardashian-Wests, are safe ("Thank you for everyone’s prayers. Our family is safe and close"), many others have had their houses almost completely eaten by the flames.

Miley Cyrus and her husband Chris Hemsworth lost their house, but are apparently safe and sound. In her first tweets since July Cyrus updated her fans, saying "my house no longer stands but the memories shared with family & friends stand strong," imploring them to donate to their time and money to the firefighting cause.

Gerard Butler also tweeted a photo of himself in front of his Malibu home (ex-home is perhaps a better term), that has been reduced to a few metal poles and the shell of a burnt-out pickup.

Someone who was much luckier, although just barely, was Rainn Wilson, otherwise known as Dwight from The Office. He tweeted: "we are safe and sound (oversees), our animals were rescued and our house (barely) spared." By "barely," Wilson means "a dozen yards."
