Mick Jenkins is all set to release his debut album The Healing Component on Friday, September 23rd. This afternoon, he debuted the album's third single, "Fall Through," on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show.
In a brief interview, Jenkins explained how the album partly represented an endeavor to level up his hook game..
"For me, it comes naturally now. At a point, I wanted to hop out of structure," he explained. "While I'm a great rapper and there's bars I can unpack for days. I wanted to work more on the melodic aspect of songs."
He also revealed that he is already balls deep on his second album. "I'm taking a different direction on the next album. This is just the introduction to the idea that love is a healing component," he said. "I'm 10 songs into my next album."
