Michael Da Vinci is back with a brand-new track called “Levitate.” On the heels of his previous effort, “Get Money,” the Chattanooga, Tennessee native continues to hone his skills and develop his already-infectious, laid-back type of flow.
The song talks about him representing a new type of sound from the South, where the beats kick in a more mellow fashion. Rhyming over top of an instrumental that is spacey yet not totally disconnected from reality, it reminds me of some of Talib Kweli’s more relaxed production numbers. It’s introspective yet still authoritative and it’s a strong single debut from Michael Da Vinci.
