Here's Michael Christmas' second track of the day, "Video Game." The beat on the other track he dropped today, "Bubbling," sounds like it came from a video game -- kind of like the victory music in Mario Kart, but this one's a little darker, perhaps inspired by an old 8-bit Atari shooter. Even so, Christmas raps, "This ain't no video game," and we're left further disoriented as the track's producer, Young Vagisil (yup), injects the beat with hollow synths you're more likely to hear on a grime tune.

This is the underground world of Michael Christmas, and though it's not exactly in line with hip-hop's definition of "real," it's as authentic as anything else out there. The Boston emcee boasts about living the life of a "strong farmer" and how he'll have his sister beat you up if you comment on his ashy skin. Somehow, all the humor never dilutes the force of Christmas' spontaneous bursts of rapping.

Quotable Lyrics

Why you smokin' angel dust? You supposed to check the blunt
Havin' an erection sucks when teachers try to test you, huh?
I should just go fuck her once, back to class after lunch
