Over the past few months, former NBA-er Metta World Peace has released a series of powerful tracks that speak to his worldview, upbringing and strong opinions. Following "Detox," "Thanks Mom, Thanks Dad," "Only One Left" and "Baltimore," here's "Urban Issues."

Sampling Elton John's "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word," this track has Metta lamenting the problems inherent in both our celebrity culture and urban politics. The man himself writes:

"When we see dysfunctional athletes, celebrities, civilians, etc., and we don’t get the backstory before we judge, congratulate yourself. Congratulate yourself for being on a team of people that loves to see people at the bottom so they can look down on us."

Real talk from Metta.

Quotable Lyrics:

And this to the lost cause mothers
Baby sitter searchers
From Friday to Friday
She in the club with the vultures
