As of late, it's been en vogue for veteran NY rappers (and even some younger ones) to drop freestyles over classic beats from their hometown. We've seen Fabolous, Tony Yayo and every member of The L.O.X. do this, so it's refreshing that for Method man's first new one in a while, he sets his sights on a more recent past. Taking on French Montana and harry Fraud's "88 Coupes," he delivers a very enjoyable freestyle.
This follows up the announcement of his new album, The Meth Lab, and the accompanying release of its title track. That comes out on August 21st, but until then, enjoy these fresh bars.
