Troy Ave needs a friend right now, and he's got one in Meek Mill.

Troy was officially charged with attempted murder over the weekend. Still recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg sustained at last week's Irving Plaza shooting, he was wheeled into Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday by an attorney. He pled not guilty and was denied bail until trial. With not a lot of people voicing support for the embattled Brooklyn rapper, Meek Mill wrote an impassioned note on Instagram Monday night:

“The laws they made ain’t designed to protect us! ‘They like get killed or get 100 years’ Don’t let the press ‘gas’ you to go against ya own people!” he wrote. “Because if that was a cop Tryna protect his life the police force gone stand behind them 100% ‘Pic look crazy’ #freetroy & never let these ‘bum ass nobody sucks crab in the barrel dudes’ pull you down! Most of the time it’s all for attention…. that’s all these busters be wanting forreal!”

Meek, of course, is facing his own legal problems at the moment. He is currently on house arrest in Philly.
