Despite getting a two to four year sentence for violating probation conditions, Meek Mill's legal troubles isn't ending there. It looks like the MMG rapper is now facing another wrongful death lawsuit from the family of Jaquan Graves, who was gunned down in a parking lot outside his Connecticut concert venue back in December. According to TMZ, both Meek Mill & his label Roc Nation are being sued for the death of Jaquan Graves, who had reportedly just left the venue when gunfire erupted and he was struck and killed.
The lawsuit claims Meek and Roc Nation "allowed thugs to remain on the premises, after exhibiting disorderly, disruptive, argumentative, angry and/or agitated behavior toward patrons.”
In addition to this, there was a second victim and family who also filed a lawsuit against Meek, who also died in the shooting outside the venue. In fact, just a couple weeks ago, that victim’s family requested that the MMG rapper submit a written response under oath to their questions within the next thirty days. That lawsuit as well alleges Meek Mill's fans are "thugs" and were the ones responsible for the violence that occurred at the concert. It also says that Meek Mill's violent lyrics were the ones that attracted those individuals in the first place and even quoting some of Meek Mill's lyrics.
However, Meek had since denied any involvement with what occurred that evening, and later added that the allegations against him are filled with racist stereotypes and tones.
The estate of Jaquan Graves is suing Meek for unspecified damages. Whether or not they win the lawsuit is another story, but it’ll probably be a while before we find out.
This latest lawsuit comes just hours after finding out that Meek’s bail request was denied by a Pennsylvania Superior Court.
Meek is currently serving time behind bars since early November after violating his parole by exhibiting reckless endangerment in New York while driving a motorcycle through the city streets. And it doesn’t look like he’s getting out anytime soon unfortunately.
