"Cell Boomin" is off Maxo Kream's recent mixtape MAXO 187, which put the young Houston rapper on the map. For the video, though, he gets Atlanta's Father to join in, making the track that much better. Both Maxo and Father are part of a new school of trap-inspired rappers who shove the drugs down your throat with such deadpan delivery, it makes you wonder if they're joking. They also turn bygone trap motifs into Twitter-friendly catchphrases. And they're bringing back the flip phone.
Maxo and Father shot the video at SXSW, and both A$AP Rocky and Lucki Eck$, with blunts in hand, stop by to join in on the fun. Looks like one helluva house party.
