The Queen is back! Mary J. Blige just dished out a lot of new information about her upcoming album The London Sessions, which will be her first since 2011's My Life II...The Journey Continues (Act I). She already picked an easier title to say, so she's off to a great start. While getting ready to perform the album at the iTunes Festival in London September 25th, she seemed really excited about the writing and recording process; "It’s all about the London music scene and I’m so excited to have been part of it to record my album,” she said. “The songs are fun, therapeutic, and soulful. This is a beautiful change for me and I’m proud of what we have done here.”
The album boasts a who's who of London's hottest musical acts, with Sam Smith, Disclosure, Emile Sande, Jimmy Napes, Naughty Boy and more all contributing to the album. Sam Smith co-wrote the Disclosure-produced "Right Now", which Mary released a teaser of recently. The first single off the album, called "Therapy", will be released September 23rd on iTunes, and was also co-written by Smith. The album will be released December 2nd via Capitol Records.
