Actress Margot Robbie captured the hearts of DC Comics fans and critics with her artful portrayal of Harley Quinn in 2016 film, Suicide Squad. Earlier this year, it was announced that Robbie was set to reprise the role alongside an all-star cast of DC heroines including Black Canary, Renee Montoya, Cassandra Cain, and Huntress in Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). During a recent interview, Robbie revealed that there is another hero that she would like to see Harley Quinn join forces with on screen: Poison Ivy.
Fans of the all-female superhero team's adventures will know that the relationship between Harley Quin and Poison Ivy has long been portrayed ambiguously. While speaking to Pride Source, Robbie admitted that she would enjoy exploring the dynamic between the paladins. "If you read the comics you know that Poison Ivy and Harley have an intimate relationship," she shared. "In some comics they convey it as a friendship; in other comics you can see that they're actually sexually involved as a couple. I've been trying to -- I would love to have Poison Ivy thrown into the universe, because the Harley and Poison Ivy relationship is one of my favorite aspects of the comics, so I'm looking to explore that on screen.”
