Baltimore Orioles slugger Manny Machado has had enough of Red Sox pitchers throwing at him. Last night, after Boston's starter Chris Sale threw a pitch behind him during his first at-bat, Machado reached his breaking point.
It all started back on April 21st, when Machado slid into Dustin Pedroia at second base, prompting Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez to throw at Machado three times, before Matt Barnes zinged a fastball at his head.
Then, Sale threw at Machado again last night, almost two weeks after the original altercation. And despite the fact that Manny would later hit a homerun off Sale, he was still fuming about being thrown at after the game.
During an expletive-laced post-game rant, Machado told reporters he lost respect for the Red Sox organization.
"I mean, if you're going to fucking hit me, hit me. Go ahead. Fucking hit me," Machado said. "Don't let this shit keep lingering, fucking around and keep trying to hit people. It's fucking bullshit."
