Many Moore is currently enjoying the success of her show This Is Us. The drama series has earned multiple awards and nominations, and introduced many Americans to Sterling K. Brown. On Tuesday, Moore took a moment to honor her deceased former lover, DJ AM, who died from an overdose on August 28, 2009.

Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein and Moore knew each other for years, but began a romantic relationship in 2007. Although their relationship only lasted a few months, Moore and DJ AM remained friends after the split. He was found dead in his apartment in New York City two years later. DJ AM was 36 years old. Moore took to Instagram to remember her friend and former lover with a picture of the DJ looking smug while realxing on a couch. "9 years. I miss you every day, Adam," wrote Moore as the caption for the post.

According to CNN, DJ AM's body was found near a crack pipe, a half bag of crack cocaine, and prescription drugs. The overdose came a year after he and Travis Barker survived a plane crash that killed four other passengers. Medical examiners claim that DJ AM had cocaine, Oxycodone, Vicodin, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl, and Levamisole in his system at the time of death. He had been sober for 11 years before his accidental overdose.
