Today Macklemore and Ryan Lewis debuted a new record, dedicated to Macklemore's relatively new-born daughter (she was born in May). The two tapped Ed Sheeran to sing the hook on the personal record. In addition to dropping off the collaboration, Macklemore wrote a pretty lengthy note about what he was going through when he found out his wife was pregnant, and he's also spoken to MTV about the song's creation.
The rapper revealed how Ryan Lewis helped him reach the song's full potential. "He was like, ’I feel like it’s missing some vulnerability. I feel like it’s missing a piece of you. Where are you at right now’," Macklemore said. "I immediately was just like, Where am I at right now? I’m so scared to be a dad. I don’t know what kind of dad I’m gonna be. I don’t know if I’m going to let my addiction get in the way of being a good father."
