Fans are still trying to reel in from Mac Miller's death. It's been exactly three months to this day that the rapper passed away due to a legal combination of cocaine and fentanyl. His album SWIMMING is among some of the best albums released this year, something the Recording Academy acknowledged when they posthumously nominated the rapper's album for Best Rap Album. His mother took to Instagram to celebrate the news.

Mac Miller's mother, Karen Meyers took to Instagram to celebrate her son's first GRAMMY nomination. The announcement that he was nominated for Best Rap Album came three months after his passing. The rapper's mother shared the news on Instagram with a screenshot of the Recording Academy's tweet of the nominees along with the caption, "congratulations" followed by angel, hearts and prayer hand emojis.

SWIMMING is among the several dope hip-hop albums to get recognized by the Recording Academy this year. Along with Mac, Nipsey Hussle's Victory Lap, Cardi B's Invasion Of Privacy, Pusha T's Daytona and Travis Scott's Astroworld are in the running for Best Rap Album of the year.

Following Mac's death, his mother organized "Mac Miller: A Celebration Of Life" benefit concert with the proceeds being donated towards Mac Miller's Circle Fund. Mac's close friends and collaborators such as Vince Staples, Earl Sweatshirt, Chance The Rapper, ScHoolboy Q, and more performed at the show.
