Mac Miller's passing hit us all hard on Friday. As we try to move on while paying tribute to his storied career and musical evolution over the years, it's definitely difficult to lose another one of our favorite artists. Mac Miller was one-of-a-kind and his personality shone through in his music. One woman who got to witness Mac's infectious smile on a daily basis is Nomi Leasure, whom he dated from his high school years up until their split in 2016. Days before his passing, she had written a prose piece about one of their last conversations and shared it on her page after hearing of his death.
Nomi spoke of meeting with Mac to clear the air, a moment that she is so happy they got to share. While she goes into detail in her piece here, you can tell just how close they were as she details every one of Mac's nervous habits. Posting a screenshot of the work, Nomi added, "So grateful we had our final moment. Our clarity, cleaning of the air." According to People, she had previously written, "You changed my life. I, yours. The residual effects of your passion ripple on. You are not gone. Not in the least."
Leasure and Miller had shared many of their moments together on social media before they broke up. Members of his family and his friends have all been sharing their thoughts in tribute posts over the weekend with his mom posting a throwback photo of the two together.
