Mac Miller returns with a brand new mixtape later this month called "Macadelic."
After performing âLoudâ at the mtvU Woodie Awards on Thursday night (March 15) as part of the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas, the Pittsburgh rapper announced that his new mixtape, Macadelic, will drop on March 23.
âLoudâ is one of the records off the Macadeliccompilation, meaning fans at the Woodie Awards got a live taste for the project via Macâs performance. In turn, Mac took home the Woodie of the Year Award due to his grassroots hustle.
âWeâre a new generation, weâre about to change the world, weâre gonna start that today,â Mac told the crowd, before announcing Macadelicâs release date.
For Mac, the impending mixtape release comes after finishing last year off on a strong note. HisBlue Slide Park debut album, which was released in November of last year, hit No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 chart after selling 145,000 copies in its first week. The album spawned singles like, âFrick Park Market,â âParty on Fifth Ave.â and âUp All Night.â
This year, has gotten off to a hot start for Mac as well. In February, the 2011Â XXLÂ Freshman may have shocked fans by releasing âDig That,â an unlikely collaboration with Harlem rhymeslinger Camâron. On the same day, Mac told XXLMag.com that he and Cam actually recorded four records and have talked about doing a project together.
âWe wanna do some soulful hip-hop shit, while also making some hard shit and some fun music,â Mac told XXLMag.com about the proposed projectâs direction with he and Killa Cam.
