Ever since Lupita Nyong’o and Rihanna sat next to each other at a fashion show for Miu Miu in 2014, fans have been crossing their fingers for the two minds to meet in the movies someday. While there have been rumblings about a secret project involving the Black Panther star and the “Work” singer, nothing has officially been confirmed by either party. Until now, that is.
During a conversation with E!, the actress didn’t reveal much about what she’s been working on with RiRi but she did point to some information coming out soon. Nyong’o was asked about her collaboration with Rihanna, to which she responded in a sly manner. “I can tell you absolutely nothing about that,” said the actress. She says so little but even the mere mention of the collaboration means that something is happening between the two and that’s enough to celebrate.
The two previously teased an Ocean’s 8 style film in 2017 involving a heist on Twitter, with both entertainers saying they were in. Ava Duvernay teased that she would be directing the flick, with Issa Rae possibly signing on as a screenwriter. All of that is speculation but if it turns out being true, we could be in for a pretty spectacular movie. All that we know right now is that Lupita and Rihanna are working on a secret project.
