The release of "Black Panther" has everyone buggin'.
Today marks the official North American release of Black Panther and two of the films leading actresses are just as excited as many fans are. Lupita Nyong'o posted a video of her and co-star Letitia Wright posted up in the backseat of a car laying down a freestyle on a beat. Needless to say, the two stars rap about their Marvel film and the world of Wakanda.
"The Black Panther lives... and so does Troublemaker! Also introducing, MC Underbite (@LetitiaWright), best freestyler in Wakanda," Lupita captioned the video, where she lays down a verse saying, "Back on the scene, Marvel baby, stay in the green." Watch below.
Lupita recently chatted with Allure magazine about working on set with director Ryan Coogler. "It was just such an inspirational experience because so much thought was put into this film," she said. "And every single aspect of it was rich and beautiful and just arresting, actually. To see this aspirational African world that actually becomes an example for the whole wide world was spellbinding. We were all very much aware that we were in something extremely special."
The film has sparked many celebrities to give back by taking deserving youth to screenings of the movie. We posted on T.I. who gave away hundreds of tickets, TDE's Anothy Tiffith who took busloads of children to screenings and most recently Serena Williams who treated young black women from Black Girls CODE to a private screening.
