Last month, Lupe Fiasco released the single "Pick Up the Phone" on his website. With the promise of a multitude of albums due out before the year's end, he releases the "Pick Up the Phone" music video.
In the song, Lupe poses several rhetorical questions and takes a contemplative look at humanity's relationship to smartphones and how they impact his relationship with a girl. In the video, Lupe's raps are interpolated throughout the story of a young man who thinks his girls is screening his calls and texts. He drives to her apartment, where he finds her unconscious in the bathroom and her phone laying besides a pile of pills.
