“It all comes down to you just hope he’s OK. It’s really all we can do.”
The Carolina Panthers picked up a much needed win over the New Orleans Saints last night but the major takeaway from Thursday night's game was the 4th quarter hit that sent Carolina's star linebacker Luke Kuechly back to the locker room.
Kuechly made a hit on Saints running back Tim Hightower and although it didn't look particularly violent he was visibly distraught after the fact. Initial reports suggested he might've suffered a leg injury but he was taken back to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion, which he has suffered from in the past. Last year Kuechly missed three games under the league's concussion protocol.
“There’s no real words to really describe it,” teammate Greg Olson said. “It all comes down to you just hope he’s OK. It’s really all we can do.”
#Panthers say LB Luke Kuechly is being evaluated for a concussion (not leg). Would explain the tears, given his history.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 18, 2016
