Chicago has a versatile sound out right now. Lucki (formerly Lucki Eck$) makes spaced out, wavy tracks and “Deja Vu” is no different. He and Joey Purp rap lazily around the rumbling beat, talking about their drug use. This time the focus of their attention is lean.
The rapper’s sound has always been druggy, but this song reaches new levels. The beat and vocals sound like they’re literally taking place inside a promethazine cup, and Joey Purp raps “I think I live in lean.” This is the definition of trippy, and Lucki is taking us there.
