Alexis Skyy has drawn some criticism from her appearance in the current season of Love & Hip Hop. Alaiya Grace, the daughter Skyy conceived with Fetty Wap was born prematurely and came into the world with a serious health issue called hydrocephalus, a buildup of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain. The baby's condition required multiple surgeries and treatments, a grueling regimen that was mentioned during the television show's last episode.
When Alexis explained her daughter's medical situation, she also mentioned that her child was a recipient of Medicaid. This statement confused many viewers since Medicaid is usually offered based on income. The reality television star's lifestyle and expensive fashion taste don't point to her being in need of any type of financial assistance. Fans of the show were quick to make fun of the mother, assuming that her benefitting from the government program was ushered in by bad financial choices and irresponsibility.

What might have been considered by her critics is Alaiya Grace's severe medical condition. It may be considered as a special health need that would qualify for Medicaid assistance regardless of her parents' income and opulent style. Either way, we hope Grace grows up to be a healthy individual.
