Loud Places

Jamie XX has made a name for himself as a producer, but the first time most heard him was his understated instrumental contributions to UK mood pop quartet (now trio), The XX. Despite releasing a few big singles, and an incredible full length Gil Scott Heron remix album, Jamie has yet to release a proper LP. Today he's shared a new record from his long-awaited solo album, In Colour, which finds him reuniting with XX vocalist Romy.

"Loud Places" wouldn't sound all that out of place on an album from the group, but where the usual reverb-laden guitar would stand, Jamie has incorporated warm vocal samples, and a pulsating sub-bass beat. Look out for his album later this year.
