TK Kravitz has shared 2.0, the follow-up to his 2016 self-titled mixtape. The Atlanta rapper was a former member of the short-lived but successful duo TK-N-Cash, and is now taking his catchy sing-rap style further on his solo material. The new project features a number of high-profile collaborations from both rappers and R&B singers representing the range of Kravitz' style. 2 Chainz, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Jacquees, and Keke Palmer are all here, in addition to 8 solo tracks. The project has been in the works since last summer, when Kravitz explained the reasoning behind the numerical title to XXL. "2.0, it’s just, sonically, it’s bigger, you know what I mean? Subject matter, it’s deeper, so everything is just going deeper and going bigger, that’s why I call it 2.0," he said. He's not wrong, the songwriting on 2.0 is more dynamic and complex than Kravitz previous material. Beginning as a teenager, the rapper's maturity comes through in a big way on his latest material. From big R&B moments like "Ain't Yo Man" to the Soundcloud rap-adjacent "Out The Gate," he covers a lot of territory, and does it all convincingly.
